The Hawks made up their game in hand tonight beating Farnborough 2-1 at Westleigh Park in what was only the north Hampshire side’s second game of the season.

Former ‘Borough midfielder Nic Ciardini opened the scoring in the 64th minute when he connected with a cross from Christian Nanetti, putting away his first Hawks goal since transferring from Cherrywood Road in the summer. Ryan Woodford then made it two with 82 minutes played when he sent home a cross from Ciardini after a Hawks’ corner.

Josh Huggins then scored Farnborough’s consolation at the start of five minutes of injury time, denying new Crystal Palace loan signing Ross Fitzsimons a clean sheet on his Hawks debut.
