Liam Daish

(Left Defence)
Born 1968
Liam was Billy Gilbert's most prized signing prior to the club's first Premier Division season. Having retired from professional football through injury he brought considerable experience to the team, echoed on the pitch as well as in his managerial position. He previously played for Birmingham City, Coventry City and made international appearances for Ireland. Daishy’s commanding presence was never more felt than in the opponent’s goal mouth, from where he scored more than his fair share of goals. Suffering a career ending injury to his knee at Worcester City in October 2002, Liam kept his Hawks duties strictly managerial until a poor run of form through the 2003/04 season saw him sacked by the club along with co-manager Mick Jenkins in January 2004.
