Luke Nightingale

(Forward
(On Loan to Bognor))
Born 1980
Portsmouth born Luke started his career with Pompey in 1998 as a trainee, staying five years in which time he racked up 50 appearances and scored eight goals. While at Portsmouth he enjoyed a loan spell at Swindon Town before moving on to Southend United for a month in September 2003.

From there he moved into the non-league game with Weymouth for half a season before transferring to Bognor Regis Town in 2004. During his games against the Hawks with the Rocks, Luke was noted as having a rare quality in being able to cause havoc in the heart of the defence, and when he became available was quickly signed by Shaun Gale in March 2008.

Competition for places in the front line meant that Luke has so far made 46 appearances in his season and a half with the Hawks, however he has become something of a penalty expert with eight of his twelve goals coming from the spot.
