|Jefferson’s career started with a two year stint at Thame United between August 2000 and March 2002. From there he moved into league football with Oxford United and stayed with the Us until September 2004 having made 65 appearances, many as a substitute, scoring 9 goals. His crowning achievement in league football was to score the only goal in Oxford’s second round FA Cup tie against Swindon in December 2002, which put the side into a third round away match at Arsenal.
Apart from a brief spell at Bristol Rovers in 2005, the rest of Jefferson’s career has been spent largely at Conference National level clubs, including Woking, Gravesend, Forest Green and Stevenage. He has also played for Worthing, and at the start of the 2006 season joined Eastleigh after training pre-season with Yeading. In his short time with the Spitfires he made six appearances, before moving back to Yeading at the start of October 2006.
With the Ding he made eight league appearances, scoring a brace against Cambridge in their 5-0 defeat of the Lillywhites in October that year, but was also instrumental in the side’s successful FA Cup run, scoring against Farnborough twice over two matches in the third qualifying round. He left Yeading by mutual consent in December 2006 and joined the Hawks in time to debut on Boxing Day against Bognor.
Having struggled to assert himself with the Hawks he was released in June 2007, and signed some time later for Weymouth.
