Jason Chewins

(Left Defence)
Born 1970
Jason’s ten year history at Aldershot made him a legend among Shots fans. Having joined in 1994 he made a record setting 488 appearances before bowing out when the Conference outfit went full time in 2004. His achievements at Aldershot, including player of the season awards in 1999 and 2002, were crowned in his last year with a testimonial season that culminated with his last match in Shots colours against Portsmouth in July 2004. He has also made numerous appearances for the Isthmian League representative side.

David Leworthy was quick to sign the defensive midfielder in June 2004, hoping that his versatility would help fill often lightly covered key positions in the Hawks line up. This proved to be the case and Jason not only made 43 appearances in his first Hawks season, but rapidly became a fan favourite taking second place in the supporters’ player of the season awards.

Having spent time out injured however Jason found it increasingly difficult to regain his left back position at the start of the 2005/06 campaign, and in search of regular football transferred to Ashford Town (Middlesex) in November.
