Mon Jun 18, 2012 : 22:45

Hawks HQ tonight confirmed that Barry Blankley will replace Sean New as assistant manager to Stuart Ritchie.

The former Southampton defender brings years of managerial experience to Westleigh Park, having had two stints as boss at Southern League Bashley, followed by a five year run from 2004 to 2009 as assistant manager at Salisbury City. He has also been in the hot-seat at AFC Totton and coached at Weymouth.

In an illustrious career on the pitch Blankley played for sides including Southend, Aldershot, Woking and Basingstoke.

New meanwhile has now left the Hawks.
