Cherries victory boosts confidence
Tue Apr 3, 2012 : 22:10
The Hawks began their road to recovery with a 3-2 victory against AFC Bournemouth's second string at Westleigh Park tonight. Caretaker manager Steve Johnson gave most of his squad a run out in the game, which saw Bournemouth take a fourth minute lead through Lyall Taylor before Alex Baldacchino quickly equalised in the eighth.
Former Hawk Steven Gregory put the Cherries ahead again just before the half hour, but amid a flurry of second half substitutions for the home side two more goals sealed the win. Scott Jones bagged the first when he volleyed home Steve Ramsey's cross, and then Christian Nanetti fired home the winner from the spot after he was brought down by Gary Bowles with just four minutes to go.
