Board to look outside club for “right man” to manage

Mon Apr 2, 2012 : 23:01

Hawks Secretary Trevor Brock tonight spoke on BBC London’s Non-League show about the situation with the club going forward, revealing that assistant manager Steve Johnson and fitness coach Adi Aymes will helm the side when the Hawks visit Truro on Saturday.

“The backroom staff of assistant manager Steve Johnson and fitness coach Adi Aymes are going to take the side for tomorrow’s friendly with Bournemouth, and possibly the next couple of games.” He said.

“Being number two to the previous number one we’re hoping he’s got a few of his own ideas and he can motivate the side to get us out of the position we’ve unfortunately found ourselves in.”

When quizzed on the timescale for appointing a new manager Brock said that there wasn’t one:

“It could be before the end of the season or after. If the right person comes up and it’s someone we’re interested in then we’ll try and move it along as fast as we can.

“As a club we’ve tended to go for internal appointments in recent years, but on this occasion we want to take our time and get the right person for the job. We’ve had loads of applications already and no doubt a few more to come.”
