Stags best Hawks in Cup semi finals
Tue Mar 13, 2012 : 22:05
The Hawks hopes of reaching St Marys were crushed as AFC Totton advanced to the final of the Hampshire Senior Cup with a 2-1 victory at Westleigh Park tonight.
Jack Odam put the visitors ahead on the hour when his edge of the box volley arced into the net unchallenged, but the Hawks struck back fifteen minutes later when Scott Jones crossed from the corner flag and Ollie Palmer was there to turn the ball in on the line.
With extra time looming the Stags won the game in the 82nd minute when Hawks keeper Lyall Beasely uncharacteristically missed punching a deep free kick sent in by Ryan Hill, and Ryan Moss latched onto the loose ball to poke it home at the back of the six yard box.
