Hawks make it four in a row

The Hawks came from behind at a freezing Westleigh Park tonight to over turn visitors Bishop’s Stortford 2-1; chalking up their fourth consecutive win in the process.

When Scott Shulton put the visitors ahead from the penalty spot after keeper Aaron Howe collided with Matt Jones it looked as though the home side’s winning streak was over, but a committed second half display turned the game on its head.

Manny Williams struck first in the 53rd minute when he smashed home the rebound after Blues keeper Deniz Mehmet pushed away Mustafa Tiryaki’s header, and then Steve Walker concluded a brilliant sweeping move from the Hawks nine minutes later when he buried Williams’s delicate knock back from the line.
