Hawks turn on the style
Mon Jan 25, 2010 : 22:25
The Hawks returned to Westleigh Park in style with a 2-1 victory over Bromley tonight, after an unprecedented 30 day gap between home games.
On a pitch showing no sign of winter wear, the hosts fell behind in the 26th minute when Warren McBean made the most of a fast break and brought the ball down on the edge of the box to fire home.
But just two minutes after that, Ian Simpemba capitalized on a defensive mistake and stroked home a low shot to put the sides level at the break.
A vastly improved Hawks side saw new signings Ian Selley and Michael Hector both make their debuts, and 59 minutes in Wes Fogden twisted a shot home from close range to give the Hawks their first win since November.
