This is not the first time Maidenhead have been reprieved and we stayed up in the end on merit. However, if they had drawn their final match with Eastleigh 3-3 they would have been replaced with Hampton & Richmond, so their win and efforts were not wasted. Welcome back i guess. Was hoping we could have somehow managed to accommodate Gloucester City into the BSS as i used to go watch the Tigers when i lived in Cheltenham (and 2 of my children still live there). Maybe we will meet them in Conference National in the near future? AFC Hornchurch are another of these clubs like Weymouth & Farnborough who threw pots of money at the club only to go bust! They have re-emerged and made their way into the BSS on merit i suppose so will be interesting. Be warned Eastleigh, it'll end in pain.....Incidentally you don't think that Ian Baird could be on his way out of Eastleigh do you and replaced with someone like Lee Bradbury - now that Bradbury has indicated he wants to try his hand at management in Non League football. I'd heard when we were wanting a new manager, he wasn't interested because he had loads of offers on the table??? Bizarre really....but nothing would surprise me... Would be kinda sweet really - Bairdy could go for the Bashley job then - (sorry Bashley)
Looking forward to next season and forgetting all about the dreadful season we've just experienced! Looking forward to seeing & welcoming: Matt Pegler, Sam Page, Ryan Moss, Ed Harris, Sahr Kabba, Clark Masters, Stefan Bailey & Tony Taggart.

tbh , who really gives a fig about Ian Baird ? or where he goes ? why would Eastleigh get rid of a manager who knows this league for someone who basically failed in the football league ?

and wtf has it got to do with the new additions to our league ?

Tbh Ketchup it was more about the fact that he has just announced that he is prepared to drop into non league football to recommence his managerial career and yet only recently his apparent cousin had stated he had not applied for the Hawks post because he had lots of offers to coach in the football league? So many to decide its not for him and pursue things in the non league? I suppose I was putting 3+2 together and making 6 but I'd also heard Bairdy could be on his way given that after 4 years Eastleigh still haven't been promoted. I for one thought it was an interesting topic of conversation - if you don't. - that's fine don't bloody well read it then fella, so why make a comment at all. You are quite damning - I make comments, sometimes controversial, but you are always looking to have a pop and think your views are the right ones, you're not always that balanced with your comments? I have out up with a lot from you over the years and have as much entitlement to you with my views.....and I guess I will always carry on, but I don't often slate people and when I respond like now I always try to do it in a fair manner. so in my own gentle way - THERE THAT TOLD YOU MARK Hahahahaha - roll on the season

Lee Bradbury had a big budget at Bournemouth and was sacked for perceived failure. Suggestions he had a lot of interest in the football league is simply "puff" IMO, who are these clubs. Had they genuinely been there he's have take one.

End of the day there is 1 very good reason he might not have applied for our job... he wouldn't have got it. We wanted someone with a history of success and year on year improvement.... with all due respect to Bradbury he has no experience and we could appoint a million and 1 different young managers without the name. This isn't a dig at him, the reality is Lee Bradbury may turn out to be a great manager or an average manager, but being the former boss of a big club doesn't make you good.

Shaun Gale for example will always be a much better manager than Graham Rix, but Rix is a well known name and sounds like a coup... until you employ him.

I digress. Of course Lee Bradbury is going to look for a non-league challenge. If his want is to manage again, the non-league really is the only place that will consider him. But it won't be easy, a side that finished 21st 3 divsions below league 1 wouldn't have been interested...
Come on you Hawks.

Hopefully we got the right team, but it's a 2 year deal, shorter than previous managers have been given in the past I think. In respect to experience we missed out on a good manager and he was our assistant manager -Dean Holdsworth, but as they say hindsight is a wonderful thing.
