Stuart Ritchie will step down from AFC Totton, at the end of the season. This is according to AFC Totton's Twitter account. Not a shock really, bet he ends up with us.

Found a link to the news on the AFC Totton website http://www.afctotton.com/stagnews/singl ... newsnr=176

would rather see Stiimson but think Ritchie is the most likely to end up here with Johnson remaining as assistant

AFC Totton shouldn't really have announced that one should they? Disappointed that with all the applicants and the club stating that they were interviewing 12 individuals they look like they've probably gone for the cheapest option. I guess that might mean more money for playing staff? Will Sean New accompany him to the club? I think there was a real opportunity for an exciting future (and there still is) but we could have gone for someone like Stimson who had a lot of experience at this level and higher. Although I guess it depends how much we were paying -it might have been that everyone turned the position down? Ican't believe that Ritchie would have been first option after all that process, but then again with Fallon links I suppose a lot of us thought this may happen anyway. Ritchie had gone on record to say he wasn't coming here etc etc so I suppose it may be that he's going elsewhere? We shall see- it'llbe interesting to see how Hawks HQ respond to Totton's announcement. In the meantime we've a game to win tomorrow - COYH!!!
Looking forward to next season and forgetting all about the dreadful season we've just experienced! Looking forward to seeing & welcoming: Matt Pegler, Sam Page, Ryan Moss, Ed Harris, Sahr Kabba, Clark Masters, Stefan Bailey & Tony Taggart.

I was trying to think of a suitable response Scott, but I think you've summed it up nicely there...

For starters, Totton have every right to announce that their manager is stepping down - why would they need to seek permission from us? For all we know, they may have no idea he's coming to us.

Not sure why the disappointment either - I find it difficult to be disappointed about selecting from a list of names I don't even know - for all I know the other 11 could be all kinds of non-league basket cases. Stuart Ritchie - IF appointed - would be a decent choice - he seems well connected in the local area, has a decent track record as a manager, gets on with our new vice chairman, has a past history with us...ticks a lot of boxes for me.

I thought Dorchester had appointed their new manager , wasn't one of Alan Knight's assistants ?
And who'd have thought that afterall ,that something as simple as Rock'n'Roll could save us all.

I did wonder when it was announced that they were interviewing 12 individuals whether it was supposed to read 1-2 individuals. ie Stimson and Ritchie as 2 of the names that seem to dominate discussion on here.
As Simon has said Ritchie would be an excellent appointment with his knowledge and background.
Stimson also has a very good career behind him, but we don't really know if he has applied or even been shortlisted.

Hopefully on Saturday when the manger is announced we will still be playing in conference

Totton have seen constant improvement under Ritchie, finishing well every year
2005 8th Wessex Div 1
2006 4th Wessex Div 1
2007 2nd Wessex Premier
2008 1st Wessex Premier
2009 3rd Southern Div 1
2010 2nd Southern Div 1
2011 1st Southern Div 1
2012 4th Southern Premier
Add to that they could win their 3rd straight Hants cup in a few weeks and made the FA Cup 2nd round this year. Cant be said hes done a bad job at Totton can it!
The lessons learnt from the FA Cup run still live on... Westleigh Park has better paper towel dispensers than Anfield!!
