are these two new signings on loan?
Looking forward to next season and forgetting all about the dreadful season we've just experienced! Looking forward to seeing & welcoming: Matt Pegler, Sam Page, Ryan Moss, Ed Harris, Sahr Kabba, Clark Masters, Stefan Bailey & Tony Taggart.

Let's not be churlish here. Fair play to the Board. As we go into perhaps the most vital ten match run in our history they have addressed two significant weaknesses.

One - No back-up keeper. Having trawled through Dan Thomas's match reports he seems a fine young keeper at Bournemouth, Dorch, Welling & Totton. If SG feels he's a better bet at the moment than the shell-shocked Lyall I'd say fair enough. If its too sit on the bench, well thank heavens. Either way we are now in a better position than we were a week ago. (BTW he was in goal for Dorch for the 'mankini' match).
Two - We seem to have a few midfield scuttlers but since Double-Barrel's departure we have no real width (excepting Sammy who I don't think is up to ten matches at 90 mins) so the signing of Nanetti (a nippy winger) I believe is, again, to be congratulated. And maybe allows Rambo to move infield.

They look, on paper, to be two cracking signings which at this time (even if on loan) I for one applaud the Board.

absolutely humungus welcome to the new duo

obviously we need two keepers as we enter, as you say, the most important 10 games in our history :o

wrong to drop lyall whose been a total success in this barren season of success stories :(

plus for what it's worth i'm still lamenting the departure of craigy b b

but that's no way a reflection on our new wing sensation

i feel a 'stop the rot' result in my water tomorrow :P :P

Looks like Nanetti was signed for 'an undisclosed fee'
http://lewesfc.com/news/2012/03/nanetti-goes-west

Whereas no fee has been mentioned for Thomas

Maybes something to do with the Wes deal? ie we get a pre-season friendly and a player or two (bit no cash)

Looks like Thomas was free agent after being released

The lessons learnt from the FA Cup run still live on... Westleigh Park has better paper towel dispensers than Anfield!!

I think one or two people on this forum have been a little too quick to predict doom. Who knows if these two players* will work out but at least given them a game before judging them. :silent:

*both of whom seem to fill spots that most of us have said need filling for a while

Im not judging the keeper signing, just that we get a 2nd keeper after lyall makes a mistake to cost us a game on tuesday and i would say that is the only major one to cost us a game, boreham wood mistake didnt cost us the game as others made mistakes which lost game and lyall's confidence might be damaged if dropped.
If history repeats itself, I should think we can expect the same thing

whilst i understand the sentiment i believe the club is bigger than one man's confidence. no-one has a god given right to play. especially when looking at the stats over the last couple of months. a goalies lot is a difficult one. its not just about catching and kicking the ball. i don't know enough about it but at the moment i see little in the way of cajoling, defensive organisation and a true command of the penalty box. the new kid looks to have something about him. over the last few weeks i've expected nothing from this match. for me this is the last match of finding the right combination. we know what the old boys can do. i'd play all four new guys today. see what they do and then pick THE team for Tuesday night. i'd then stick with that team for the run-in. if it doesn't go well against bromley & tonbridge and i think AndiCars will be on their way to WLP.
