Good comments Stew, I can't argue against them, the stats tell the story - one goal scored between our two teams says a lot! I won't mention last minute goals that cost us a draw (twice!) and a substitute going awol!!!

One shining star for the H&W Blues and deserving a special mention is Dave The Limpet Hall. He played superbly in goal and without some of his heroics we would have lost our games by a much greater margin. He also saved a penalty against H&W Reds which resulted in us getting a 0-0 draw. Well done Dave, brilliant attitude and amazing performance.

Bit of a write-up (slight mention?) of our Summer Festival in tonight's Snooze - entirely from a Pompey ITC perspective.
At least we get a mention!

Apparently Pompey ITC are very good. :problem:

Derek, did you see the short clip on South Today last night featuring walking football (filmed at Eastliegh, of course!!)??? Your 'mate' Harry was in it!!! Looking at that short film, lots of them were very clearly running, which probably explains why we can't win tournaments!!

Now that the season is upon us for that other H&W footy team, when we next meet up I wonder if we can have a chat about friendlies against visiting teams? And of course for away games too?
I'm happy to contact other sides in Conny South to see if they have WF teams that would be interested.
(Truro away on a Saturday morning anyone? :wtf: )

Sunday session today, and what a stonker of a 5-a-side game we had! Bibs went 3-0 up against the blues, then found themselves pegged back to 3-3, then shock horror went 4-3 down! Got it back to 4-4, then in the dying moments as the blues pounded a punch-drunk defence the bibs broke away to score twice and win 6-4!
It was just like the old times when we would have eight or ten turn up and score for fun!

Now that we've a few on hols and a few more carrying elderly complaints, the numbers aren't there yet on a Sunday quite to the same extent we get on a Thursday. From now until the 4th October it will be 4pm starts for the Sunday sessions (except 30th August when it will be 4.30 ko), so get those Sunday lunches re-arranged, or bring a Barbie, and let's get a few more along to this session.

After 4th October the Special One is looking to hold the Sunday session in the sports hall at Sarf Dahns College, so as the darker evenings and colder weather close in we'll be all nice and cosy

That said the Sundays 11th and 25th October have been pencilled in for our Autumn Festivals! Speaking of big events, there was lots of chat today about the Hawks in Europe, and it is looking like we have seven certainties for the trip to Portugal, so still need another couple of players to make sure we have a decent squad to cover all the games. If you are over 50 years old and fancy playing football in Europe, now is your chance!
