Updates

Postby Slipperyshe153 » Sat Mar 10, 2012 8:54 am

Can we have some updates if at all possible?

The fixture list seems to have not been updated since February!

The Cup match outcome against Brighton has been given no coverage whatsoever and there has been no info or update on the 6-pointer match at home to the league leaders’ Yeovil Town Ladies.

If we beat them we are in with a great chance of promotion to the same Division as Portsmouth Ladies.

No one would believe the season was nearing an exciting climax to the current season when you look in on here.

There’s more to Havant & Waterlooville FC than men playing badly, you know!

Come On You Hawk Ladies.

All I need is someone to actually give me the information. The 'correspondant' I used to have no longer goes to ladies games, so unless someone tells me what goes on, I can't update it. I do get an email from Trev with results in, are there ones missing then?

If there is anyone associated with the ladies side who can drop me an email once a week with concrete information I'd love this to be completely current and accurate with forthcoming fixtures. But I personally don't know anything about the ladies side, so I'm reliant on others. It's just a time thing, it's hard enough keeping the first team stuff up to date.

Surely from the entire ladies' setup someone could cast an eye on the fixture list once a week and give me a pointer if something's not right?

Okay, I've been back through my mail and I did miss one result. So the fixture list now represents all info I have. I don't know anything about the Brighton game, and as far as I can see the 'top of the table' match with Yeovil was postponed and as yet has no new date?

Bravo Rich!

I receive the 'Sports Mail' each week and there’s a great piece in it almost every week by their sports writer, David Brawn, which is great and has lots of info in it to create interest in the team.

Would I be allowed to copy that into here, giving the source, or would they have to give their permission first?

Hi Rich,

I’ve typed it all out, ready. All I need is the go-ahead to post. I wouldn't want to do the wrong thing.

It makes great reading!

The men’s team match reports are often used from ‘The News’ but those appear also on their website for all to read, whereas what appears in the ‘Sports Mail’ is not available anywhere else and gives very good general coverage of all local football.

The internet has some very good advantages as well as the disadvantages that will put boards' of director's off from giving them the time of day so I can understand your frustration.

I sometimes use Kevin's match reports from the News when I'm not able to make it to a game, but I have his direct permission for that because I know him. In return I write reports for the News/Sports mail when he isn't able to. I doubt it would hurt posting reports from the Sports Mail on here after they've been published, but let me see if I can contact the writer first to be sure. Top marks for enthusiasm though, very helpful!

Thanks rich

The enthusiasm comes with some pedigree. My husband’s an ex-referee (Dorset County Referees Association) and we are old acquaintances of Rachel Brown and her family (Everton & England goalkeeper) so we’ve been fans of women’s football for almost twenty years.

If you can get the go-ahead for me to type out the ‘Ladies’ articles and post them here I’d be very happy to do so each week.
