Chelmsford Away

A tale of 2 half’s.

Like many of our games this season we were pretty rubbish in the first half, we lacked a spark and energy, couldn’t seem to pass it to each other and ended up trying aimless long balls. The players were trying though, you could see they were as visibly frustrated as we were in the stand. The fact we found ourselves one down wasn’t too surprising. Chelmsford weren’t that great either so we weren’t out of it by any means at half time.

Billy Clifford and mike Green came on at half time and we looked better, no doubt they’d had a kick up the ‘arris at the break. We actually looked decent, passing, chasing, tackling were all better and step forward Jake McCarthy. His first was a shot from
Outside the box, the keeper probably should have saved it but if you don’t shoot you don’t score! the second a lovely flicked header to the far post from a Clifford chipped free kick, the third was class, Baggie (who had his best game for the hawks) turned and twisted, beat two defenders before crossing for Jake to smash a volley in. Pandemonium and the hawks were 3 - 1 in 15 minutes from being 1 down. From there on in they huffed and puffed whilst we seems happy to see it out, a poor goal to concede to get them in in at 2 - 3 gage them as big of late momentum we we saw it through.

The board of directors are introducing second half season tickets and we’ve told the Connie south we are only playing from 3.45 onwards from now in.

A quick bit on hungerford too. second best until we got back in at 1 all, we’d have probably won it with 11 in the pitch. Hungerford put a right shift in and out worked us. We have to match the effort of other teams to then allow our footballers to flourish.
