Hawks team of the decade

Postby shaun » Mon Dec 16, 2019 11:00 pm

Seen plenty of teams of the decade flying around. Here is my stab at the Hawks version:-

1. Ryan Young
2. Dan Strugnell
3. Rory Williams
4. Brian Stock
5. Ed Harris
6. Ryan Woodford
7. Wes Fogden
8. Nigel Atangana
9. Ollie Palmer
10. Jason Prior
11. Nic Ciardini

Hard to argue with much of that - that XI with all at their peak would dish out PAIN. Possibly the only switch I'd make would be to take out Ciardini. Nanetti or Arthur perhaps?

Can't really improve on Shaun's XI, except maybe JJ Hooper or Muzzy in place of Nic. Saying that, it would result in a 4-3-3 formation which hasn't been particularly successful for us in the past.

I would possibly swap one of the center halves for Tyler Cordner. You can't argue much with the back bone of the side that won successive promotions.

Elphick departed 2009.

Simpemba departed 2011 so is eligible, but Ade thinks he's a dick, so...........

Very hard to argue with Shaun. Theo was a personal favourite who could sneak in front of Cards for me. I'd probably go Ed & Tyler at centre-half. Maybes Jake at full back. But what a fantastic looking team. Be interesting to see over the next couple of years; who from the current team will force their way into our affections.
