It states on website wrap up warm tonight as expected to be -3/-4 but its already -4 in the day! Surely the pitch isn't going to be playable is it? I obviously hope it is, but i need to cancel some other things so i can come tonight and concerned if i do cancel - then the game is postponed it'll have all been a waste of time. Is the game on? thanks.

Hampton's match already off with frozen pitch. Although they are further north of course. :) Fingers crossed we are still on to get 3 points, but won't be that easy as they are an inform team, although in last 10 games despite them being up there in form, we are top!!!

Chazza et al

Well in the last few hours its been between 1 and 4 degrees on the pitch ie nothing below zero. The covers have been on for the last two days and the surface is not frozen anywhere. The pitch has no ruts and is flat. The covers are back on after the inspection. The inspecting ref was Football League and he discussed with the London-based match ref at great length. So the club have done everything they can possibly do to get it on.

From what Brocky says it should be firm and flat (nothing like my belly then) - ideal to get the ball down and pass it about.

And the really good news is that if it still goes ahead the pitch isn't going to be churned up ahead of Saturday's game!
