Well they say football is a game of opinions.

Cant believe people are moaning at ollie, 1st thing there boss thought for the 1st booking he should of got the free kick in the 1st place, we moan when players dont show passion and yet when they do there lambasted, i waited to see the video before posting was wanted to 100% sure he slipped and he did as i was stood right there, even there dug out were laughing at the yellow card given.

From that point on dont remember us getting anything free kicks etc, i dont like Gale either but refs have to be professional as well & also the Tonbridge manager was spoken to twice during game about his conduct so Gale couldnt of been that bad yesterday to warrent us getting no decesions

On the starting line up, cant see why we pushed Jones out wide and didnt go 442, but wasnt at Dartford or Bromley so maybe it worked and he stuck with that formation.

Anyway on to Basingstoke it is.
If history repeats itself, I should think we can expect the same thing

Ollie's first booking was for being a bit daft, slamming the ball down in disgust is always going to incur a referee's wrath, the second one, well it doesn't matter if he slipped as some are saying, it was still a bookable offence come what may. I think Mark has gone somewhat OTT calling him a disgrace, he is being asked to play upfront on his own for most of the game, which even the most experienced players can find daunting at times, so I can understand his frustrations.

The game's gone now, we have to move on, 7 to go and we will need to win 3 of them to give us any sort of chance. Basingrad twice, after the results yesterday, they might just fancy making a late challenge for the playoffs, Truro are inconsistent, so maybe we can capitalise on that, Dover will be a tough game, our best bets are probably Salisbury and Farnboro who won't have anything to play for. Just imagine the tension if we have to get a result against Staines on the last day of the season. Ade will be occupying the bogs for the duration :D But results willing, it won't come to that and we all have an enjoyable day in the WLP bar beforehand

I think everyone was hit hard on Saturday. Firstly by only getting a point from a game we really should have won. The real impact, however, came from results elsewhere. I don't think anyone would have expected Staines to get anything at Dover, let alone a 4-0 victory. H&R are also breathing down our necks now, although a win at WSM (who seem to be on their summer hols already) was slightly less unexpected.

Despite the gloom, we do look a much improved side from a month ago. It was hard then to see how we could possibly win a game (other than by scoring at least four or five goals). Bromley was a start and, apart from our finishing, there wasn't an awful lot wrong Saturday.

As Baz says, we need three wins from seven. Everything may rest on that Staines game. One to separate the men from the boys if that's the case ;)

SG in The News today..........35 games in and he's still using the same excuses!! Performance may have been better, but it's results that bring points!!

Firstly if the ref had given the correct decision in the first place then Olly wouldnt of reacted the way he did (no excuse though) the defender was pulling his shirt it neally ripped so i do feel a bit sorry for Olly as for the 2nd red if you going to get book for slipping then no game is going to finish weather he slips into the player or not you cant help a slip.

Olly look distraught in the players entrance and i amit i felt for him and im not one of his biggest fans.

The 2 penalties god knows what the ref saw but we will never know as refs do not need to explain their decisions wrong in my opinion but there you go next cup final Basingstoke away Saturday lets get as many as we can up there and continue to do our bit as fans.

Indeed Malc...in fact, I was due to miss this weekend's battle royale, but I've opted to turn down the chance of a free ticket to watch the rugger-buggers at Wembley to go to Basingrad

So come on everyone, you know it makes sense, get yourselves up to 'stoke on Saturday...after the last couple of performances it seems that the players do care and want to stay up, the least we can do is reciprocate that with support of our own.

Agree with Shaun - it was the other results that made Saturday so disappointing.
I thought we played quite well. I actually thought we did better when we went down to 10 and went 4-4-1. I have not seen the 4-3-3 work at home this season.
Actually I thought the ref was having a decent game. He let quite a lot go and we were agreeing he was one of the best this season. Didn't get a good look at Ollies 2nd yellow but if you pick up daft yellows to begin with then you are walking a thin line. Difficult to be critical about a player when the manager encourages dissent on the touchline.
I didn't think either of the penalty shouts were clear cut. The first looked the more likey but can't argue too much with any decision. It just appeared all the 50/50s went against us.
I thought we played pretty well - miles better than home to Woking or Boreham. I thought we deserved the 3 points and I didn't think Tonbridge looked like scoring when we went down to 10.
I am more positive than I was. I can now see how we can win games.

Just read article in The News and seen Gale's usual excuses. Irrespective of what you think about the ref's performance, it's no good using that same old weary excuse. You get as much for you as you do against over the season - e.g. the ref we had at Sutton gave us just about everything!

Indeed Ade - I'm as guilty as anyone for missing games this season, and I know we all have pressures outside of football that sometimes get in the way. In my own naive little world I'd like to think we can all pull together in the time of need.

Onwards to Basingstoke!
